Kathleen Nartuhi Sculpture

Conceived in four dimensions, executed in three dimensions, the sculptures by Kathleen Nartuhi project a classic serenity and a quiet authority. Simple in form, stone-like in appearance, the sculptures command the space surrounding them. Celtic cairns, 20th Century abstract expressionism and contemporary objects, such as computer circuits, are sources of inspiration. The work explores the complex ties between thought and their origin through a simple catalog of formal expressions.

Carved by hand from a block of sculptural concrete, the sculptures cure for twenty days; they are then sealed with a protective coating and mounted on a steel base. These sculptures have the appearance and durability of limestone or granite and are essentially care-free; the sculptures may be placed in the garden, the home, or the office.
