Kristy Ford

"My passion, love for art, and expertise fuel my desire to create timeless, simple, and romantic designs. I am constantly refining elegance."

As a third-generation jeweler, Ford realized that jewelry is about connection: it connects people, holds memories, and tells stories. These stories connect generations together, and when retold, they are a way of preserving a family's history. This realization has shaped her perception of her role as a jeweler—to use precious metals and gemstones to create a marker of time and help preserve memories.

Ford is a time traveler when it comes to designing—she pairs modern technology with old-world craftsmanship. The process begins using CAD technology, which allows her to push the limits of design and make mistakes before arriving at a concept or design that she is happy with. Once she has a prototype, she leaves the modern era and utilizes time-tested goldsmithing techniques to bring each piece to life.

Ford grew up in the jewelry industry—literally, in the back of her parents' stores in Richmond, Virginia. Her jewelry education began with her parents and extended to co-workers, industry professionals, and master craftsmen. Like many other children raised in the jewelry industry, the store was her lab, and she got to experiment with all kinds of materials and products, supervised by the best in the business.
