Laura Rittenhouse Studio Furniture
Furniture is essential for our daily lives. Laura's aim is to make these objects beautiful and simple to the eye. Her visual language along with her strong desire to create form the core of her work. She takes inspiration from the natural environment, architecture, weaving and early to mid 20th century modern design. Her work ranges from simple to intricate and detailed.
She creates and builds all of her pieces by hand and always strives to make well executed and well crafted pieces of furniture. The silver inlay in her work is achieved by routing out the design into the wood then silver stock is hammered into the wood to fill the design.
Laura is a graduate of the California College of the Arts with a bachelor's degree in wood furniture. She has worked and studied under many furniture makers and artists.
