Lisa K. Rosenstein
Lisa K Rosenstein, White Works
Lisa K Rosenstein reacts to the chaos and hurry in the world by turning inward and creating relaxed spaces for contemplation. Her artwork is quietly spiritual, a whisper in the crowd, a calm place to relax for a moment. Her work is enhanced by sunlight, moonlight, and artistically placed lighting, as indirect lighting heightens the patterns, shadows and textures in the paintings.
Starting with gesso and acrylic mediums, Rosenstein prepares her canvases. She thinks about the passage of time and, in her own language, documents movement and growth. Whether using repetitive marks, flowing string, or geometric wood, Rosenstein builds on her ideas literally and metaphorically. Her work is three-dimensional and altar-like, textural and organically flowing.
Lisa K Rosenstein was always an artist. At the age of 43, she undertook training at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, where she learned the craft and technique necessary to bring her innate design and conceptual ideas to life. After 5 years, she graduated with an AFA and started on the path to explore her ideas and sell her work. Rosenstein lives in Washington DC and is the mother of 3.
