Marol Paresi was an avid world traveler with a keen eye for uncommon textiles and crafted embellishments. She traveled all over the world collecting beautiful things and ideas. In the 1970s, she established a small workshop at home in Italy to produce women's accessories and found an eager clientele for her bejeweled handbags. With her daughter, Annalisa, she founded a company in 1977. By 1980, they moved into beaded footwear as well. Maliparmi, a combination of their names ("Ma" + "li"), was established in Padua, Italy in the 1990s.
Under their new identity, Marol and Annalisa soon developed a full line of women's apparel embodying an exuberant worldly vision. Annalisa Paresi is today the chairperson of the growing Italian apparel company.
The designers of Maliparmi are known for their bold combinations of textiles and ornament used in modern silhouettes that marry the traditional artistry and crafts of the past to a forward-looking sensibility. The striking result: vibrantly colorful and innovative apparel collections. Maliparmi's designers create a joyful look unlike any other.
