Patricia Garbarini

Patricia Garbarini Photography

"Nature is my passion. Rather than record only its objective reality, I use forms and colors from nature to create personal expressions--often abstract, often dreamlike--of the beauty in the natural world."

Patricia Garbarini revels in feeling connected to the beauty and peace of the natural realm. Her vision is close, intimate. She loves to explore the abstract world of close-up views within the essence of flowers and plants. Interested in transcending literal reality, she creates soft, dreamy, ethereal views of the beauty in nature.

Still preferring to work with film, Patricia creates many of her intimate images with a macro lens. She sometimes moves the camera over the subject to render abstract bursts of color and motion. She also creates several types of montages by layering two images together and creating a composite image.

Patricia studied at both The School of Visual Arts and The New School in New York City. Her study of the work of Freeman Patterson moved her toward finding her personal style.
