Rachel Atherley

"My jewelry collection is a direct representation of my love of nature. I combine the fleeting beauty of the environment with the enduring quality of precious metals and gemstones. I love what I do and hope to bring that joy to each and every piece I make."

Rachel Atherly was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Montana and now resides in New York's Hudson Valley. Enamored of nature and always spending time outside, she combines patterns, silhouettes, and movement with the strength and beauty of precious metal to bring a timeless sensibility and modern edge to her work. She strives to create jewelry that allows people to express their own individuality.

Using only high quality natural gemstones in conjunction with silver and gold, Atherly creates heirloom quality work. Craftsmanship and integrity are held to the highest standards. Incorporating her training as a traditional metalsmith, she uses various techniques including piercing, forming, wax carving, and stone setting to create each piece.

Rachel Atherly received a B.F.A. from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana in 2002 and an M.F.A. in metalsmithing from SUNY New Paltz in New York. Along the way, she had the opportunity to assist many artists in their studios, including Annette Ferdinandsen. Atherly was proud to launch her own collection in the fall of 2010, and it has proven to be a wonderful success.
