For over 25 years, Rhoda Baer has taken photographs all over the world for corporate, editorial and advertising clients. Her elegant yet bold images have captured numerous awards, been widely exhibited, and included in many private collections. Rhoda brings the same bold style to her work with fused glass. Whether working on large pieces or small plates, her signature use of vibrant color, clean line and minimalist perspective is evident. Bullseye Glass, a leader in promoting glass artists worldwide, recently selected Rhoda Baer's work for their E-Merge exhibition of rising talent in kiln-formed glass. One reviewer referred to her work as "fresh and alive - absorbing and holding the light."
In a process that takes over two days, the glass tabletop pieces are hand cut and assembled, fused at 1480 degrees, and fired a second time to form the final shape. Some pieces are also sandblasted and fired a third time. As with all glass art, there will be slight variances in the colors and design. The plates and platters are safe for food and can be put in the dishwasher, although hand washing is recommended. Each piece is signed and dated, guaranteeing authenticity.
