Known for their free form styles, signature metal elements, curled hem lines, external seams, and balanced proportions, SKIF Designs ignore conventional limitations of knitting and alter the basic structure of the sweater. Each piece is designed for ultimate comfort and to beautifully accentuate the customer's every move.
In each SKIF design, it is the mixture of natural fibers that creates the perfect weight --and this leads to comfort and a unique fit. The company believes that it is up to the customer to decide how to wear a SKIF design, and the company motto is "Everybody is a sweater designer."
The SKIF story began in 1992, when a passion for photography, art, and clothing led designer Nina Ganci away from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York to Italy, France and Japan. When the artist returned to the United States, SKIF was born. The company name comes from the word schifo, an Italian term used in Milan to describe the way the artist spoke Italian.
