Jeweler Kristen Lee creates pieces that are inspired both by her art experiences and by her experiences with nature.
The artist casts and hand fabricates her designs in sterling silver, then adds 23-carat gold foil, stones, and patinas for color and depth. Textures are created by hammering or stamping in the metal.
After graduating from college, Lee worked in graphic design while looking for something she could create with her hands. After her first jewelry class at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) jewelry program, she knew that was what she wanted to do with her life.
