Syra Gomez

"I have always been captivated by the universality and history of personal adornment. I hope that individuals identify with my pieces and use them as a means of self-expression—whether the piece is a bold statement or an understated, everyday classic."

Syra Gomez believes it is possible to bring high-quality craftsmanship to an industry dominated by mass production. She hopes that, through her creations, she can instill in others the same feeling of joy and creative expression that she experiences while she designs and crafts her collections.

Syra Gomez's process is akin to designing by discovery and experimentation. She starts out with a sketch of a rough idea, which she then sculpts, manipulates, and edits into its final form through a series of hand-built mock-ups. A visit to Syra's studio reveals countless explorations of different ideas for her collections as well as inspirational pieces no longer in production.

Syra Gomez is a self-taught master of her craft. Her career as a jeweler began with belts made out of silk thread and ceramic that received recognition by fashion designers and the public at large. This interest in her work led her to venture into the costume jewelry business. She has designed, manufactured, and distributed her work in the USA and abroad for more than 15 years.
