After the monarchs hatch and the weather turns cold, the milkweed plant stands out as a sculptural form in the tall autumn grasses. The artist used a soothing and limited palette of colors to capture this season. A quiet foreground gives the eye a resting place in contrast to the heavily detailed top. This piece is acrylic with some pencil and watercolor added and is on 4-ply archival board.
