Created by Carole Guthrie
Painting from the inside out, the artist manipulates the shapes and colors to produce a unity within the work. Organic shapes seen once the artist looks at the painting on the easel reminds her of the lady slipper that grows in the MA woods for a short time in May. Guthrie uses several tools: brushes, palette knives, and scrapers to reveal colors that provide depth in an abstract work. On gallery-wrapped canvas with painted sides.
