Wade in the Water

Acrylic Painting

Created by Hunter Jay
An elusive lady's slipper orchid beside an Appalachian stream provides a deep sense of calm and serenity. The title comes from an old spiritual. Though African American spirituals were born in the pain, oppression, and struggle of a particular people, they have become songs for all people.

Do not shrink from moving confidently out into the rivers and streams of life. Don't be fearful of the waves of the ocean. Wade in the water, because a higher power is troubling the water. Take a risk. Experience it all to the fullest.

The sides of the gallery-wrapped canvas are painted black, so it may be hung as is or easily framed.
