Art Glass Bowl
Created by Marianne Thompson
White bowl with parchment-like appearance and thin ruffled edges. Hand-drawn white linear pattern is fused into glass, then slumped. The slumping process used to create the wavy edges results in a slightly irregular, organic shape. This piece is a combination of various shades and sizes of powder, frit and sheet glass. The white lines are accented by areas of ivory, white and clear speckles. The mix of glass creates a rich, matte surface with areas of translucency revealing the layers below. Bowl thickness is slightly more than 1/8" (4mm). Because each piece is unique, size will vary slightly.
