Apricot Nesting Bowls with Ruffled Edges
Art Glass Bowls
Created by
Marianne Thompson
Hand-drawn white linear pattern is fused into glass, then slumped. The slumping process used to create the wavy edges results in a slightly irregular, organic shape. Each piece is a combination of various shades and sizes of powder, frit and sheet glass. This mix creates a rich, matte surface with areas of translucency revealing the layers below.
Color deepens from a pale apricot large bowl to a saturated hue of the same color in the smallest bowl. Each is accented by ivory, white and clear speckles. Line spacing changes gradually from wide on larger bowl to tighter on smaller bowl. Bowl thickness is approximately 1/8" (4mm). Because each piece is unique, size will vary slightly.
