Art Glass Sculpture
Created by Helen Rudy
The artist creates an elegant ring of glass from thin strips of ivory, turquoise, and white arranged in a concentric pattern. The glass is fired in a kiln to 1400 degrees, which is hot enough to melt the pieces together while retaining the texture of the individual strips. The close placement of these reactive colors results in optical blending, in which the colors visually mix together to create the look of a fourth oyster gray color. The sculpture fits snugly into the custom powder-coated stand. Signed by the artist.
