Surreal Moose

Art Glass Sculpture

Created by Martin Ehrensvard
The moose is a majestic animal, full of strength and pride. Ehrensvard grew up in Sweden, where the moose is the big king of the forest. The moose has an aura of serenity, and it can weather some of the harshest cold climates of the North.

Ehrensvard learned how to make small glass moose at his first internship at Stockholm Glassworks in 2013, but since then he has pushed the scale, complexity, and color. For this one, he has used glass cane made from a silver-rich transparent color that glows on the black background. Ehrensvard found inspiration for this long slender body from studying surreal animal paintings by Salvador Dali. The solid base makes this piece very sturdy.
