The Mechanics XIII

Art Glass Sculpture

Created by April Wagner
"The Mechanics" is a series of small sculptures that Wagner creates by twisting, turning, and curling blown glass in front of a 2000 degree furnace. This numbered series embodies the rich, dynamic motion of molten glass, capturing it at its most engaging moments. By shaping glass rondelles into unique forms and then pairing them with another piece, the artist plays with color, light, line quality, and visual weight. Intriguing to the eye and a delight to consider, the sculptures in this series are perfect tabletop or curio pieces for the traditional or contemporary home.
