Art Glass Vase
Created by Helen Rudy
This bold and vibrant fused and blown glass vase is created using the technically demanding roll-up process. Rudy creates a detailed pattern in the form of a thick slab made from hundreds of individual pieces of hand-cut glass. After it's fused together, the glass slab is sliced on a tile saw. The slices of glass are book-matched like a wood veneer and fused again into its final pattern. The glass tile is then taken to a hot-shop blowing studio and its placed back in the kiln to warm up for the furnace. The glass tile is then picked up and formed into a bubble where it gets blown into the vase shape. Signed by the artist.
