Aqua, Gold & Amethyst Resistenza

Art Glass Vessel

Created by David Patchen
From Patchen's 'Resistenza' series, this flattened vessel was created through the difficult technique called murrini, which involves creating patterned glass tiles, carefully composing them into a mosaic, then fusing them together to construct a glass bubble all before blowing the final shape. This Resistenza is composed of murrini with bands of gold and amethyst around a center of aqua. Fine white borders frame the patterns throughout. This piece is and double-encased in clear glass for great depth, optics and stability.

All of Patchen's pieces have flat satin-finished bases. While Museum Wax is recommended for added security, for ultimate stability, this piece may be purchased with a permanently bonded clear glass base. Optional base is 5" x 5".
