Retro Rose: Archival Rocket-Socket

Art Glass Vessel

Created by Eric Bladholm
Large hand blown glass sculptural "Rocket-Socket Series" with hand sculpted glass geo-twist lid. This rare piece from the artists personal collection is the remaining sculptural top from a series he made over two decades ago for a gallery show in Florida (Kristopher-Lindsay Gallery Sarasota December 1994), with a newer base made to showcase the large top.

Features a blown large semi-translucent opalescent pale rose glass vessel form as a pedestal for top. Extremely large (17"H, approx. 5lbs) sculptural top was all created hot (no cold fabrication) is also blown, with hot-added sculptural details including ruby vertical twist and golden-bronze metallic accents. Solid crystal base adds stability and balance to this modern design inspired, eye-catching offering. Piece has been exhibited in the artist's studio and shows extremely light signs of use, mainly on the bottom from being moved around on pedestals and shelves. New felt feet are added to all pieces when sold. Top is signed 1994, and base will be signed on crystal base at time of sale with matching signature plus month of sale/2018 inscribed on bottom of base.

Meticulous detail and inspired design are the basis of this archival series by the artist. Ships in two boxes.
