Art Glass Wall Sculpture
Created by Leslie W. Friedman
Created by using multiple layers of opaque and transparent sheet glass, multiple colors, textures of glass frit, and colored glass stringers. Each piece goes through several stages of high-temperature kiln firing. The final firing is a face-down composition in which the artist layers each color and texture of glass, creating depth in each casting. The final piece is an organic, impressionistic cast-glass image with striking visual depth. It is very difficult to capture the beauty and depth of this work in a photograph but once you see it, it quietly draws you in.
