Art Glass Wall Sculpture
Created by Anne Nye
This piece is all glass created using my signature faux watercolor method. Three-millimeter sheets of fusible glass are pre-textured using clear powdered glass kiln fired over a textured glass fiber. The resulting piece resembles cold pressed watercolor paper including the organic (deckle) edges. The images are applied by hand using powdered colored glass and water with paint brushes and other traditional painting tools, then kiln fired to around 1400 degrees Fahrenheit to a satin finish. The glass is securely mounted to an aluminum and wood backing using special adhesives and finished with a traditional gallery wire for easy hanging. A special dry wall hanger is included. All the artist's glass is superbly light-fast and will not fade even in brightest sunlight. Can be hung outdoors in temperatures between -5 and 110 degrees F.
