To the Moon and Back

The color in this fused glass panel comes from layering cut glass with inclusions of silver foil and glass for the moon, then firing the glass and silver "sandwich" in a kiln. This piece has been processed multiple times in a glass kiln, giving the work depth and dimension. Gestural lines in gold and black are fired into the glass surface to add detail and movement. The panel is mounted onto a brushed aluminum frame to complement the silver tones in the piece. The measurement of the glass panel alone is 9"h, 7"w.
