Art Glass Wall Sculpture

Created by Leslie W. Friedman
Unlike most glass you see, this glass art has three dimensional aspects in each kiln fired casting. Each piece is created by using multiple layers of opaque and transparent sheet glass, multiple colors and textures of glass frit, and color glass stringers. Each piece goes through several stages of high temperature kiln firing. The final firing is a face down composition in which the artist layers each color and texture of glass to help in creating depth in each casting. The final piece created is an organic impressionistic cast glass image with visual depth and texture. It is very difficult to capture the beauty and depth of the work in a photograph. The artist uses black museum framing with linen matting to give the glass a finished look. Minimalist framing enhances the personality of the composition and brings quiet beauty to our chaotic world.
