Black & Red Two-Bowl Pair
One of a Kind
The original model for these shapes was turned on a plaster wheel, from which a casting form was made. The casting form is one piece which enables the piece to be cast without seams, which often cannot otherwise be eradicated from the final form. The resulting shapes are graceful and fluid yet both visually and physically light. Each bowl is fired first to approximately 1800 degrees F and emerges from the final firing (at about 2100 degrees F) a lightweight (approximately 2-3 pounds) yet sturdy vessel that together form a gracefully pleasing work of decorative ceramic art.
