Round and Round the Blueberry Bush
Created by Rod Hemming
Slip-made bowl. Designed from organic and inorganic drawings. The combination of nature's leaves and abstracted triangular spirals. Inspired from the children's nursery rhyme. The outside color represents the summer warmth and the inside is the autumn season. The stylized pattern is created from the berries and the leaves of the blueberry bush. The artist used a large brush #10 to paint the background, and then #3 & #1 brushes to create the details. The artist's signature and piece number is written under the bowl. This bowl stands on a round foot. Finished bowl was fired at cone 05 at 1888 degrees.
