Tokyo Bowl II
Created by Catherine Satterlee
This large oval bowl was hand built with a light brown stoneware clay, and, except for the oxide wash and glaze before the last firing, all the work on the vessel was done while the clay was still moist. The white slip, slathered on the outside, acted as a glue to adhere the small flowers and gives texture and depth to the outer surface. Fully glazed inside and out, the bowl is food safe. Hand wash.
