Peace Dove Mirror Mosaic

This mixed media work is created primarily from a slab of stoneware clay. The design has been drawn, carved and cut into its mosaic form. Clay is added or removed to create detail and to show the mirrored glass behind the image of the peace dove. The artist enjoys working with mirrored glass as a reflective background. Her hope that, as one sees themselves and surroundings reflected, they feel connected to the peace offered. The clay pieces are permanently adhered to the mirror background and it is framed with a metal frame in a subtle grey color. It is ready to hang.
