The artist starts with a very thin slab of porcelain and carefully paints an array of colored porcelain slips across it. Then she cuts out shapes and applies them to a sturdy porcelain plate and rolls them into the background.
The tray is fired with a glossy clear glaze. The resulting plate is dishwasher, microwave, and food safe. The artist has exhibited at many shows nationally, including the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery.
