Slab-rolled platter. Recreating the abstract motifs in a modernist style. The center is a square with impressed lace pattern, surrounded by geometrical shapes and lines designed from organic drawings. The artist used a large brush to paint the center and then smaller brushes to create the details. The underside of the platter is red in color for the plate shown but may be a different color underneath as the top color varies. Signed and numbered on bottom. Finished platter was fired to cone 05 at 1888 degrees. This piece is for table decoration and can hold dry goods such as fruits, nuts, candies etc.
