Acushnet River Antiques in New Bedford, MA, is the source of the title of this piece. It was there that the artist saw a bit of old fabric with this colorful pattern, reminiscent of stained glass. Stains added to liquid white clay make the "windows." Next comes a coating of black clay which is carefully shaved off when dry. Only the color patches are covered with a clear shiny glaze. The black background and natural underside have no glaze. Hang the plate on a wall, display on a plate stand, or place on a table as a centerpiece or catchall.
