Coconut Dish IV
Created by Emil Yanos
This piece is created by placing coils onto a form and scored to adhere the coils together. When released from the form the coils are revealed. The piece is raku fired, with an iridescent lustre glaze which may or may not change over time, depending on the environment. Unglazed areas become smokey gray or black in the firing. Three "stone" feet are built onto the bottom to lift the piece off of the table surface. Raku pieces are porous and will not hold liquids unless sealed. This piece is strictly decorative. Hand wash in warm soapy water.
