This large plate is a tribute to the beautiful Pyramid of the Niches monument at El Tajin in Veracruz, Mexico. The design was carved into the clay base while leatherhard, then covered with black underglaze, and gently shaved. A lovely amber glaze was poured over the platter, covering the front and leaving drips on the underside. It can be used for display on a plate stand (not included) and on the dining table as a serving platter. Hand washing is recommended. Please do not microwave.
