This piece is a raku fired vessel with an open top. Raku firing produces a finished glaze that is full of tiny cracks in which carbon from the firing process resides. The result is random pattern of black lines. This piece was constructed with a triangular base and shape topped with a crown emulating ring. The primary glaze is basic white, which emphasizes the black crackle lines. A metallic red glaze gives a vibrant finish. The open top can accept dried flowers if desired. It is not intended for use with water.
