Emergence Tabletop Totem
Ceramic Sculpture
Created by
Cathy Gerson
Stacked with emerging polished stones surrounded by a light turquoise blue tile and collared with an antique block pressed tile. Below that is a bit of creek mica, along with many smaller glazed tiles in colors of blood red, firecracker green, purple, and blue among agate, sea glass, jade, turquoise, amethyst, and a dice that make this piece interesting and fun.
Gerson tiles are hand cut and may be sculpted, antique wood-block pressed, and carved. Totems combine these high-fired, glazed stoneware tiles with found objects, then mounted and grouted on a painted metal backing.
Dimensions below refer to total height of the totem mounted on its pedestal. Totem measures 10"H, 3"W, 2"D.
