Horny Toad Tea II

Ceramic Teapot

Created by Nancy Y. Adams
Wheel thrown porcelain tea with hand incised leaves and hand modeled/sculpted horny toad on side of tea. Sculptural, non-functional tea. Airbrushed matte glazes fired to maturity in an oxidation kiln. Signed and dated.

The little horny toads, or lizards as they are often called, are an endangered species. Friendly and harmless they fall prey to climate change and pesticides, which their limited defense of being able to blend into their environments by camouflaging themselves will not protect them. Focus on their simple life and realize we are a lot alike both human and our fellow creatures can face extinction under the changes we are seeing and feeling every day on our planet due to careless misuse of resources.
