Hole in the Wall Vase

This rectangular piece was assembled from seven pieces of clay cut from a slab. It takes careful construction and slow drying to keep it from warping. The opening in the top of the rectangle is off center creating a little tension. Because the vase is black, colorful flowers really pop against the dark vessel. This piece works especially well on a mantle or shelf.
