In a challenge to develop the simplest handle possible, the artist took a slice of soft clay from the block, cut out the center, let it get firm, and voila, a handle! The etched cylindrical body is an equally simple shape, and together they make a nice geometric vessel for flowers, kitchen spoons, or paint brushes. There is no glaze on the handle, but a clear glaze covers the body, and inside is a soft matte black glaze. It is water tight.
