This piece was wheel thrown using balcones white clay from South Texas. The vermillion is stenciled in order to achieve the unique pattern. The glaze firing utilized the raku method, which sees the kiln temperature rise to 1840 degrees Fahrenheit in less than an hour. Due to the quick and low temperature firing the piece retains some porosity. This vase is not suitable to contain liquids. This vase is not suitable to contain liquids. Each piece is unique.
