Beach Days

Ceramic Vessel

(ID: A91998)
Created by Susan Wills
With a nod to memories of vacations at the shore, this fanciful sunny matte orange vessel will brighten your day. The artist uses found items and abstract designs to bring unique textures to her work. The top rim is reminiscent of sandcastles and the applied shells are pressed from fossils.

Each piece is hand built of stoneware. The outside features a brushed matte orange with dark oxides to accent the impressions. The inside is coated in a glossy brown glaze, then fired to over 2300F degrees. This piece is decorated on all sides and functional as a vase for floral arrangements. Each Beach Days vessel is finished with a sturdy hand tied rattan handle and signed on the bottom by the artist.

      Comments about Beach Days:

just a perfectly balanced, beautiful piece. I haven't tested it to see if it's "watertight" yet, but even if it's not, it's beautiful just on its own.
