Gourd with Double Wandering Vine

Wheel-thrown, raku-fired vessel with a lid made of cast bronze and fabricatedcopper. Bronze is finished with a patina. In the raku process, the piece, once fired, is brought up to high temperatures inside a kiln, removed hot and submerged in sawdust, wood, or paper. The burning organic materials produce variable colors on the surface of the clay.
