Past and Present

Ceramic Wall Sculpture

Created by Kristi Sloniger
As with all of the artist's mocha diffusion work, this started as hand-built tiles. The slight variations in tiles retain the immediacy of the hand work. She does all the decoration with other colored clay while the piece is still wet. Then it is fired in her gas reduction kiln and she assembles the tiles with industrial strength epoxy on black wood frames.

This five panel work can make a large statement. It is pictured here with the panels closely spaced only to facilitate viewing on screen. You can hang them with considerable space between or vary the height of the panels for your own individualized display. The five panel work could easily hang anywhere from 7 to 10 feet across depending on how you choose to space them.

Please note: The dimensions listed are for the entire work as shown. Each individual panel is 45''H and 13''W.
