Summer Leaves

Like the wisp of a warm day, "Summer Leaves" delights with breezy calm. The pair of handmade earthenware panels is gently textured with long tendrils of shallow rivulets like the remnants of wind on summer sand. Then, layer by layer, the artist paints a flurry of leaves across the surface. Each leaf is placed by playing a sort of game with paper cut outs, tossing and retossing until the design seems perfect for transforming into color. Hanging this composition on a dark wall provides eye popping drama while a light colored wall reveals a drop shadow for elegant effect. The panels include sturdy French cleats for easy and accurate installation. This composition is not intended for outdoor use.
