Aryana Londir

"My work centers on balance, harmony, the integration of contradiction and contrast, and the opposition of themes, color, and form. I work in the abstract by choice; it challenges me and invites viewers to evoke their own personal experiences and emotions."

Aryana B. Londir is intrigued by color. She loves the immediacy of seeing color come to life on a canvas, on a board, on paper, on fabric. She loves the way color can be brash, vibrant, and bold or quiet, moody, and detached. Londir feels that color is atmospheric and energetic—the vehicle in which our innermost experiences are brought to the surface and experienced.

The division of shapes and spaces also fascinates the artist. As human beings, we divide the spaces in which we live, work, and play. Londir has explored this idea in a series of textile pieces called "Compartments," in which people had begun building upwards rather than outwards due to land shortages, and had seen their living spaces became more compartmentalized. Her most recent work plays with the division of space and how spaces and shapes relate to each other.

Aryana B. Londir's formal art studies include art and design at California College of Arts & Crafts, California State University at Los Angeles, and Otis/Parson School of Design in Los Angeles. Over the years, she has studied with many acclaimed master teachers to hone her sense of composition and mastery of technique. She continues to keep her skills fresh in Master Class retreats and workshops.
