Art Deco Petal Earrings
Enameled Earrings(ID: A74429)
The artist uses tiny tweezers and other miniature tools to coax hand rolled wires into shapes. Once they are fused into place, she applies enamel with a fine sable brush and a spatula, a few grains thick, in extremely thin layers. Each layer is fired in a kiln, then built upon, layer by layer. Thin layering is essential to obtain clarity of the enamel. Once this is done, she hand grinds and polishes the surface, then fabricates settings, and sets the enamel into bezels like gemstones.
