The Flow of Grace
One of a Kind
The paint in this work is encaustic which is a combination of beeswax and tree resin and pigment mounted on a cradled birch wood panel. It is painted when it is melted to 200 degrees, then fused to the multiple layers beneath creating a luminous effect. This form of painting goes back to the time of pyramids in Egypt where we have discovered portraits of the pharaohs that have endured over time. This painting will last if not exposed to a source of heat for a prolonged period of time.
