The Margins
Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by
Ellen Kochansky
It is a permaculture principle that there is more bio-diversity in the margins. Using silk organza, botanicals, snake skin, butterfly wing, puzzle pieces and text from letters written by Kochansky's mother to her father during World War II, this piece captures interactions in transparency and light. Space is created by what is not filled in on a printed page. Silk organza with a tea-stained background, paper, natural materials. Avoid moisture and sunlight.
