Emily Fox King

"If I could only bottle up and preserve the fleeting beauty of nature! Painting florals is an attempt to do just that."

Emily Fox King is interested in texture and color. Primarily working with flowers as her subject matter, she enjoys creating richly colorful and vibrant original oil paintings.

King creates thick, texture-rich oil paintings using impasto and alla prima techniques. The colors are bold and layered on top of each other. While working from real life images of floral bouquets, King abstracts the shapes and intensifies the colors to create original and energetic compositions.

Emily Fox King received a bachelor of arts degree in painting from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. She then went on to earn a master of fine arts degree in drawing/printmaking from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
